Frequently Asked Questions

Our day spa in Phoenix offers you a luxurious way to relax, rejuvenate, and reward yourself. Here are frequently asked questions about our The Essentials Day Spa.

How early should I arrive for my spa service?

You should arrive at least 15 minutes early to prepare for your service and to ensure you receive the full length of your session.

When should I make my spa reservations?

To ensure you receive all the spa treatments you want, when you want, not only is advance booking suggested, it is highly recommended. Some treatments may not be available every day. For your convenience visit our online scheduling system or give us a call at (480) 758-5803. A credit card is required at the time of booking to hold your appointment.

What if I arrive late to my appointment?

Arriving late will simply limit the time for your treatment, thus lessening the effectiveness and your pleasure. You will still be charged the full fee for the appointment.

What if I have some physical ailment, disability or allergies?

Please notify the spa receptionist at the time you are making your appointments and your provider at the beginning of your treatment. You will be informed if treatments are not recommended.

What should I tell my treatment provider?

At Essentials Day Spa all guests receiving spa treatments have not only the right, but also the responsibility to communicate openly with their therapist or esthetician about their service during the treatment. Any special expectations, personal preferences and/or possible concerns about how a treatment is progressing should first be addressed directly with the individual who is providing the treatment during the treatment.

If you have a special request to make your treatment more enjoyable such as softer music, a lighter or heavier touch, an extra blanket, etc. Please do not hesitate to ask.

If there are certain things you wish your therapist NOT to do such as work on your feet, your face, your abdomen or scalp/hair, please communicate your desires.

What precautions do I need to know?

We recommend eating and drinking in moderation and avoiding alcoholic beverages prior to your spa service. Do not shave your legs prior to a body scrub treatment. Severe sunburn may prevent you from enjoying a spa treatment. Be conscious and use sun protection.

What should I expect during my facial?

Prior to your facial, our esthetician will provide a thorough consultation to analyze your skin and recommend a customized treatment to meet your specific needs. Your facial may include a cleansing, toning, steam, exfoliation, massage, masque and moisturizer. Directly after your facial, we recommend you refrain from applying make-up or taking a shower, allowing for maximum product absorption into the skin.

What are your staff’s qualifications?

All of our treatment providers are licensed by the State of Arizona and must meet our standards of experience and training. The best measure of our staff’s competency is honest feedback, which we encourage our client’s to give us on a continuous basis.
